Particulate Control

While the larger particulate can easily be seen and its effects have long been known it is the fine particulate matter (PM₁₀) and PM_2.5) that cause the most health problems.  PM₁₀, particulates mater less than 10 microns are not filtered by the tiny scilli in the lungs causing asthma, lung cancer and even heart disease. Similarly, PM_2.5 microns can pass even into the gas exchange regions of the lungs and affect other organs like the arteries causing heart disease and has even been linked to Alzheimer's Disease.
