Pulse Jet Fabric Filter
The REX-pulse all welded modular collectors are available in a wide range of sizes to meet your needs. Pre-engineered collectors are available to reduce cost and shorten delivery time. The pre-engineered collectors come with bag arrays from 36 (6x6) bags to 169 (13 x 13) bags. Bags are supplied in standard diameters of 6" or 4 5/8" with lengths of 6', 8', 10', and 12'. The REX-pulse collectors are inspected and the mechanical components are factory tested and can typically be shipped completely assembled (except bag/cage assemblies). Modified collectors with custom designed arrays and bag lengths are also available for special applications and restrictions.
The REX-pulse collector features top bag removal and can be provided with a walk in plenum for weather protection during bag changeout and maintenance or with lift off roof doors to provide a lower total height at a reduced cost. Inlet and Outlet duct locations and sizes are adjustable to meet your needs.
All Rex-pulse collectors are designed to withstand 20 inches of suction/pressure and temperatures up to 500°F. Collectors can be modified to meet higher suction/pressure or higher temperature requirements.
Where an application requires less than 36 bags the Rex-vent collectors are available, with or without hoppers, to provide a solution to small dust collection needs.
Construction Details
The dust laden air enters the collector through the hopper or housing section.
The dust laden air is distributed by an inlet baffle to reduce the air velocity and distribute the air flow which creates a uniform flow. The dust is deposited on the exterior surface of the bag as the air passes through the bag and is exhausted through the open bag top. Since each bag is under suction, the bags are supported by a wire cage to prevent collapse. Various bag materials are available depending upon application.
Once a sufficient thickness (cake) of dust is built up, on the outside of the bag, the dust is removed by a pulse of compressed air from the top of the bag. The compressed air is pulsed through a venturi to increase the cleaning efficiency. The pulses of compressed air are controlled by a timer or optionally by a controller that cleans the bags only when the dust cake is sufficiently thick (by measuring the pressure across the collector).
The dust that falls into the hopper is removed by material handling equipment.
Efficiencies up to 99.9% are achievable.
